Join POWER’s Nik Urlaub at this fall’s Industrial Control Systems (ISC) Joint Working Group meeting. Nik will present, “Introduction to the Security Onion: Network Security Monitoring in an ICS,” 3:10-3:55 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 12, in Breakout Room I.
Nik’s demonstration will examine the use of NSM on OT networks in the electric sector. In particular, he will examine the tools packaged in Security Onion, a free open source Linux distribution built for NSM and related network tasks. This demonstration will cover the installation and setup of Security Onion as well as walk the audience through a few basic scenarios that might use Security Onion for in the ICS space.
Also part of the event line-up are keynote speakers from the National Cybersecurity and Communications Integration Center and Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a hands-on technical workshop, and the vendor expo. The meeting will also include an “Ask Me Anything” session with key personnel from Industrial Control Systems Cyber Emergency Response Team.
