POWER Engineers Selected to Implement Cityworks Solution for Eagle River Water and Sanitation District

August 2010

POWER Engineers (POWER), a global consulting engineering firm specializing in integrated GIS and asset management enterprise solutions, announced today that it was selected to implement a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for Eagle River Water and Sanitation District. The project involves Azteca Systems Cityworks CMMS and iWater’s mobile application, infraMAP. The GIS-centric solution will leverage the information within the existing GIS in order to manage capital assets and infrastructure for water distribution and sewer collection systems.

The infraMAP mobile GIS client will be deployed to the field crews with embedded Cityworks functionality. Cityworks Server will be used by office staff in the IT and Water Distribution and Sewer Collection departments. POWER will also integrate the CMMS with Eagle River’s Customer Information System, Infinity by Advanced Utility Systems.

The project began with a series of workshops for business process modeling and requirements gathering. POWER will provide the following services for the project:

Jana Constant, POWER’s Manager, Project Development, commented: “By implementing the Cityworks and infraMAP solution, the District will not only move to a paperless, comprehensive maintenance and work management system, they will achieve real business results – including elimination of repeated data entry, simplified data management, and better tracking and reporting capabilities.”

“ERWSD was seeking a software solution that could best leverage the information within its existing Geographic Information System and Billing/Accounting Systems to manage capital assets and infrastructure. We chose POWER Engineers as the consulting group to implement the Cityworks and iWater applications. Together these applications provide the District with a powerful management and administration tool as well as an easy-to-use mobile component for our Distribution and Collection crew,” stated Kevin Aoki, IT/IS Division Manager of ERWSD.
