POWER Engineers completed the CUNY Campus Wide Energy Conservation Program for the City University of New York (CUNY). Based on the initial results of the program, CUNY has requested appropriations for about $30.0 million in additional funding. POWER is involved with both the study and design/construction aspects of the program for all CUNY’s Senior Colleges.
POWER’s Scope of Work included:
Identified Energy Conservation Opportunities (ECOs) at CUNY’s Senior Colleges
Studied technical feasibility, available alternatives, and preliminary payback of identified ECOs
Refined and further evaluated ECOs by utilizing preliminary conceptual engineering, capital cost, annual energy savings, payback and life cycle costs to determine and identify more defined Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs)
Prepared design documents for the implementation of cost effective ECMs
