POWER provided engineering for a new 170,000-square-foot greenfield french fry and preform potato processing facility. POWER played an active role in the equipment procurement selection process, including creating bid packages, working with selected vendors to define or improve equipment, and following up on the manufacturing and delivery of the packaging equipment. After only eight weeks of operation, the plant was certified by McDonald’s to produce “MAC” fries, considered the toughest product to make in the business due to the rigid process specifications and extremely high quality requirements. The plant was built using a combination of new technology and tried and true standards. POWER’s services included process design, packaging design, electrical design, instrumentation and start-up support.
