Location: US

POWER Engineers provided an engineering technical review for a project to install an XLPE-insulated HVDC submarine cable system. The technical review was needed to support the financial lenders in completing their due diligence. The review covered installation techniques, cost validation, constructability and operation and maintenance plans. The HVDC submarine project is a 53-mile 400 MW +/- 200 kV HVDC cable with converter stations at each end. Review also included the HVAC cable land systems used for interconnection into the local utility’s HVAC electric facilities. The project is now in service.
