Geospatial consultants join ranks of asset management certified
Rytilahti, Halbrook earn international credentials
GREEN BAY, Wisconsin (July 30, 2019) ‒ POWER Engineers, Incorporated (POWER) Senior Consultants Mark Rytilahti and Lee Halbrook recently passed the Institute of Asset Management’s (IAM) rigorous five-module exam to receive certification by the international professional body for asset management professionals.
The IAM develops asset management knowledge, establishes best practice and generates awareness of the benefits of the discipline for individuals and industry worldwide. As International Organization for Standardization (ISO) members, the IAM published a formal International Standard, ISO 55000 in 2014. The standards represent a global consensus on asset management and what it can do to increase the value generated by any organization.
“For POWER’s electric utility clients, our ongoing commitment to certifying more asset management professionals allows POWER to align our asset management practices with the IAM to supplement their asset management practices with real-world/real-time transmission, distribution and generation engineering, and equipment expertise,” said Bart Koenig, Director of POWER’s Geospatial and Asset Management business unit.
“Public asset management has become a focus for utilities as they adopt long-term planning strategies and consider the financial impact of aging infrastructure,” said Halbrook. “A thorough understanding of IAM standards helps us develop roadmaps for our clients based on internationally proven, verified and accepted methodology that aligns with ISO 55000.”
