Client: Vista Fire Department and Facility Management
Location: Vista, California, USA
Located just seven miles inland from the Pacific Ocean in northern San Diego County, the city of Vista has a population of over 96,000. The City handles sewer utilities and operates its own Fire Department as well as managing publicly-owned infrastructure in the Engineering department.
The full service Fire Department provides services ranging from fire prevention and suppression, to emergency medical services, to technical rescue and hazardous materials mitigation. The Department operates from six strategically located stations.
The City of Vista Facility Department is responsible for the management of public buildings.
The Cityworks Server AMS implementation project for the city of Vista includes two major activities. The City chose to implement Azteca Systems’ Cityworks® Server Asset Management System (AMS) for remote fire inspections and facility management.
POWER Engineers began working with the City to configure and install Cityworks to improve the fire inspection process and facility management.
The flexible design of Cityworks allows individual departments to adapt the software to meet their specific needs. The Fire Department and the Facility Department were able to customize the software forms and configure the system to collect and manage the information they needed.
By using a single configurable software solution for many departments, the IT department was able to consolidate the software management and training resources. The following pages show several screen shots from the Cityworks system at the City of Vista.
